crying has NOTHING to do with a meaningful relationship. alot of men are raised to believe that men don't cry. so if you haven't seen him cry maybe it's because he hasn't cried in 15 years and has nothing to do with how he feels about you. incidental this is another one of those things that we do not understand about you.

that is absolutely ridiculous! I guess my nearly 17 year marriage is a waste then because i didn't see him (my husband)show tears until 8 years into our marriage --the day our son was born. (he'll be 9 this year)
As far as I'm concerned I didn't see any other reasons for him to cry.
The person who told you that is putting a silly strain on a relationship. How meaningful a relationship is not judged by whether a person can cry. How long has that person been in a relationship and is it a stable, strong, one?
It is best to judge a relationship by what it HAS, not by shortcomings.

I agree with you. I don't think that seeing a guy cry has anything to do with how meaningful the relationship is. But I do believe that it's got something to do with how much he trusts you and how comfortable he is around you.
My hubby cried in front of me, within a year of being together, and it wasn't over a death. He was afraid of losing me over some stupid junk, which he had no control of, that had happened states away.
;o)

I think it is pointless to make blanket statements like that. Some people cry over cartoons, some people are stoic in the face of great pain. It is a very individual thing and not something you should generalize.

No I don't think it's true...You shouldn't give up a relationship if you love him just because you've never seen him cry! And maybe there wasn't a situation for him to cry...you never know.

You have to decide what you believe. I had a bf for over 13 yrs and only saw him cry once but he was just not a cryer but a good person regardless.
