A friend and i were talking to day on work and he told me a good movie to see is blood diamond. I really do not have the time to go to the movies so i usually buy DVDS or rent them. I was wondering whether or not it was a good movie to see. Out of 5 stars how how much would you give it.

A clean 10 out of 10 it scores. No doubt it is one of the best movies i have seen in these years. Because the story line is so true, and the acting, writing, directing, locations, people, and photography are all superior.
Every few years an action movie comes along that has amazing depth. Terminator 2 and The Matrix are such movies, and so is Blood Diamond. It is full of characterizations we've seen before, but it's the interaction that raises this film above the masses. Each character has an agenda that forces him or her to distrust everyone else. The paths that some relationships take to develop trust are believable, while others are equally believable in remaining eternally antagonistic. And through it all is the realization that while some characters may change their methodology and morals, none ever change their dreams. Each character fights for the goal to the bitter end. Such is human nature, and such is the conflict of Blood Diamond, the conflict of Africa. In the end, we are left to wonder if peace can ever be attained in such a world. And somehow we are left believing that maybe it can.
I will never look at a diamond the way that I did before..this movie has totally altered my attitude towards life and it's meaning. I will never again take for granted the freedom that we have here in this country or any other country. It is a must see for everyone.

I'd give this movie 5 stars. The movie was great. I don't want to ruin the movie for you by giving you the outcomes, but you'd enjoy Leo's role...he was great.
Also, the movie was an eye-opener...it's one thing to hear about something and another to see it happening. It's so sad that Africans were commiting genocide against one another for diamonds and that companies knew about it.
And then the dirt the companies pull to keep the prices of diamonds high...it sucks.
Unfortunately, I do own diamonds, but I don't think I'll ask for any anymore. Whenever I get married I'll express to my fiance to not get me a diamond ring.
See the movie...it's worth it. BTW...not sure if your state has dollar movie theaters, but since it's been out for a while now you could probably catch it at one of those theaters.

Leonardo was exceptional in the movie...nice story...but toooooo much violence...and cursing....After seeing this movie...I have decided not even to look at a diamond!!!
