Im afraid it happens to many of us and we all handle it different
in the library i would politely tell the person i wasnt interested and i would appreciate being left alone if they didnt leave me alone i would complain to the library staff
In the street i do the same i tell them im not interested and walk away
My ears are sensitive i dont need to listen to their waffle but i believe being polite and only getting angry as a last resort but never waste your time with them they are sad
well done for standing up for yourself i also state im wiccan and to them this is a red flag i know but i dont hide my beliefs we had to do that for far to long anyway they usually can tell by the necklace i wear

Yes, and honestly, by a lot of Wiccans as well because I'm an offbeat Pagan. They seem to want me to follow their tradition and practice their spells (I don't practice any spellcraft) and it gets rather annoying. I can understand why though, because where we are they must feel isolated (Bible Belt area) and every member helps, but it just isolates me further. But, the difference is they don't mean to be offensive (though I'm sure the Christians don't think they are being offensive either). I still support them, and the sensible Christians, and any sensible person of faith/non-faith that knows you shouldn't shove your beliefs or lack thereof onto anyone.

They usually walk up to my door wearing their white shirts and colorful ties with their bible in their hands. If they are willing to listen to my views I will talk with them. If they are just spouting off I usually let the dogs start to bark louder and tell them I an not interesting in their thumping. In my opinion they shouldn't be allowed to pass out proselytize in a library as that is a public place owned by the government and subject to separation of church and state.
I know in my heart they will not change my views and I do not try to change their faith. If you act respectable then you are the better for it.
Blessed Be )O(

Every Religion and belief system feels victimized about something. It's life. It's best to ignore things like this and let it pass, for the greatest good of all.

As a former missionary for a Christian Church I am sorry. We do it because we have found peace and joy with our belief and what to share them with others. With that being said there is a right way and a wrong way to do that. Again I am sorry. Just a side note they do it to other Christian too.

I allow other people to believe in what ever they want to believe in. Normally, I smile at people trying to convince me to take a leaflet and politely say 'no thank you'.

I hate anyone trying to push any of their religious beliefs on me. I have never told anyone that their beliefs are wrong and I don't think that they have the right to tell me that mine are wrong. I have had people tell me that I am wrong because I don't believe in their God and that i'm going to go to hell. I especially love the Sunday Christians that think that they can be assholes all week long and as long as they go to church on Sunday they're forgiven. I don't think that it works that way.

I know just what you mean in part it is the thought that brainwashing wont work if its not kept up Ex. if the christians dont harass good pagans they may recall their god gave up on them and their preacher raped them

AS a Christian I find some of those people rather 'off putting' as my faith is my lifestyle.
and I am sorry that you have had people 'in your face'
My younger sister is a Wicca and neither of us are in each others face, as we both know how aggravating it can be.

Of course. It's happened to everyone at one time or another. Just keep walking. If you get belligerent, then you're lowering yourself to xian level.
