its clear that the majority don't love anything, not even themselves!

:) its a bad zone!

i find excuses, that have to start with the example of LOVE at home!

my question was that: what is this love like for god sake!?

i found funny answers like: "..don't you see couples holding one another hands along the Nile!"

I know I have loved my husband, and he loved me before getting married. And I know our marriage is based on love and that's what keeps us going. I know I love many people and many things and I know nobody can convince me to stop loving because it's a wonderful feeling.
And to answer your question; this love is like nothing else, so un-explainable...it has to be felt. But it results in giving, sharing , caring and so many beautiful warm feelings. I am sorry you don't have an idea about it.

Peopel in Egypt are under alot of stress. They don't really have great jobs, they don't make a lot of money. They struggle each month to make ends meet. It's sad, really, but that's what strips love out of their lives. They can't, after a long day of hard work, sit down and enjoy life and love because they are worried about how they are going to make it through the next day.
Also love, the way u mean it, is looked down on and frowned upon. Dating and courtship is forbidden, so what do people do?? they do the forbidden thing, they do the wrong thing. Couples who are holding hands by the nile, are most likely couples whose parents don't know where they are or who they are with. They would go behind their parents backs because if the parents find out, then hell will break loose. Why don't parents encourage decent love? why can't they let their children date and love if it's under their supervision?? It's always "NO, 3eib, 7aram, etc..."
No wonder people grow up, get married and they still don't know what love truly means. It's only in the movies and on T.V, but not in real life. If children don't grow up seeing their parents having a loving relationship, how are they supposed to have love in their lives? "faked el shea2 la yo3teh"
No one can tell u the definition of love, it's experience. It's smile u get on ur face, the warm feeling in ur heart, the assurance of knowing there's some always there for u. God has put love in our hearts, but it's our responsiblity to know how to experience it..

okay (family-love wise!) to love someone,
is to Accept him/her the way they are..
not expecting the BEST of them, but you just love them because they seem unique to you somehow
it's to Forgive them, to feel "different" each time you talk to them, you deal with them
it's to LOVE helping them by all means, offering them all you could (and all you couldn't too!!) out of pleasure
it's to Understand and Listen to them whenever they need someone to talk to, whenever they need venting
and it's also to Head directly to this significant person the moment you get pissed off of something and thrash out all the crap inside in their faces involuntarily..."Heading to them becomes a natural reflex in darkest hours!!"
it's to be Realistic and to understand that sometimes they do NOT belong to you so you keep off them and put some control over it!

LOVE is not a bad zone but UNFORTUNATELY we -Egyptians- have been listenning to way tooo many dreamy UTOPIAN romantic songs and watching LOADS of "love-storified" movies that gave us wrong impressions of love and made every single person here willing to Live ANY available love story with ANY available person like those he always watched and heard of.

Ppl here are actually LOOKING for Love like you can Choose when to love and When to end it up !

Believe it or NOT some ppl here love the feeling of being "dumped" so that they could FEEL those sappy music even more than before!

to LOVE someone is to Feel COMPLETELY DIFFERENT toward them and to dedicate all what you've got to give them better lives, AGAIN, you don't do it because you think "I love them, so I have to do this" but you do it WILLINGLY and INVOLUNTARILY sometimes even without knowing you love them

LOVE is not stupid PERFECT stories with ONLY happy moments and "running over the evergreens" !!!...it's SHARING your every "private" thing with the significant other just because you feel so comfort doing this

now I'm afraid I didn't get your answer the way you Really wanted but that's what i've got !

-------------------

Well the above was LOVE as I understand, whether in Egypt or anywhere else!!
respecting the addition; well..I think I Agree with you to some extent!!
Yea it's only LUST or "A NEED TO LOVE"...but; Only idiots generalize so I wouldn't !
