When alternative bands like Shonen Knife, Sonic Youth, and Babes in Toyland can contribute to a Carpenters tribute cd, then you know The Carpenters have made their mark on music.
I always loved Top of the World, and Shonen Knife did a great job covering the song. Great cd.

Karen & Richard were great together, such a shame she died so young.
"We've Only Just Begun" and "Breaking Up is Hard to Do" are the two songs that I liked best from them.

the carpenters were class gr8 singing/songwriting i even watched the movie which i think maybe respect them more so now i think we,ll be the only 2 lol

im too young to remember them but they still hold sentiment for me, shes got such a lovely voice. it's a real shame she died so young. What do you think they would be like today if Karen was still alive?

yup, when we were kids and saw them perform on TV, we thought it was so cool that Karen played the drums!!
