u have to reach escape velocity to break free from the earth's atmosphere which takes about a minute.
if no extensive orbit is involved u then have to reach speed to re-enter at the right trajectory.
in theory, it could take as little as 4-5 minutes

come on, it's not rocket science!

it depends on the amount of thrust from the rockets and the gravitational pull of the body your leaving. if it's from earth about eight and a half min, also depending on the payload. to get back it depends on what point your starting from are you talking about re-enrty it's self.if not and your talking about from when they start preperations to deorbit which is what the rentry process is called. well it starts at the begining of their day 6to 8 hours before deorbit, beyound that it depend on conditions.

Depends on your mode of travel. Or be like me....using my imagination, I can travel to space and come back in a fraction of a second!

not long, assuming you could travel straight there and back safely. a matter of minutes if this were the case
