I'm currently studying for the GMAT in pursuit of a finance phd, but I want to do a masters program in statistics first, and some of them require the GRE.

How does the GMAT compare to the GRE?

GMAT math is similar to but much harder than GRE math. I don't think GRE has Data Sufficiency; it has more charts/graphs.

GRE verbal is generally considered harder than GMAT. It's more of a vocabulary test and I think the reading passages are harder.

Not too sure about the essays, they're longer (45 minutes?) on the GRE but I think basically the same types of questions, marked harder.
