I graduated in high school as valedictorian. But it was controversial. Most teachers thought that i am not deserving coz i they don't see me in the church every sunday and i have problems with my parents. For them i am plastic and everything i do in school which are goods they considered me plastic coz they thought i am doing that because of grades. They think i am bad and my intelligent is useless coz i am not religious.
This is actually very traumatic on my part so that i cursed that valedictorian and promise to myself that i will never exert much effort in my academics in college as what i did in high school!
I hate those teachers!!!
I agree that a valedictorian must possess better qualities personally but i never campaigned to everybody that i am good!! to say whether a person is good depends on others view. it is subjective to the teachers. i was still a teenager that time, and i believed that i am not different to others. Though i am academic excellent ,

Well i had the same problem .... but my problem was with the students and the teachers ! Any way ... just forget high school .. high school sucks i know .. just think of doing much better in collage think about the future ! do you want to be like those teachers ? or you want to be better than them so its like that ... you have the chance to prove to your self and to those teachers that you are better than them and what the did ... this is the way i am thinking .. i don't want to be like those people who insulted me and looked down to me while i was the same as they were or even better ! just believe in your self and you can accomplish any thing you want !

Wow - I've never heard of such a thing! Any chance you can move to another part of the country or another part of the world where people don't hold such simplistic views?
I know many people who are terrible people yet they go to church every week, sometimes even more often. I know many people who are wonderful people who never go to any sort of religious service. I know it's hard, but don't let other's views affect your own. You are a good and deserving person (if you weren't, you really wouldn't care what others thought about you and you never would have written this question).

Please don't let this horrid experience ruin your college career. Your college experience should be much less prejudice. There are so many people from so many different academic, social, religious, and economic backgrounds there. It should be a much less subjective situation. Try to shake it off, and go for that academic excellence in college, it can take you much farther.
I am sorry you had a bad experience. It is important that teachers not prejudge their students based on what they know or don't know about them. It is the teacher's job to attempt to educate, protect, and nurture each child they come into contact with no matter the adversity. Best of luck to you.

"Those who matter do not judge; those who judge do not matter"
Don't pay any attention to how others are labeling you...only you can decide what kind of person you are. There is only one you and it is no one else's job but yours to define who that is. Teachers are still human, and sometimes they say terrible things without thinking. You are out of high school now...leave those years behind you and don't look back. The people you meet in HS don't matter...they are insignificant. Believe me...I had more than one tell me that I'd never amount to anything...and I live a better life now than they do!! Listen to your heart instead of other people's words...unless they are positive words of encouragement.

forget them, the teachers have their own agendas and desires...but you are who you are...do not let somoe idiot tell you that you are not good enough because you didn't live up to their standards, and especially don't let someone that has no more influence on your life affect hte rest of it. College is much different than High school, your efforts are more likely to be noted, your parents are not going to be factored into how your professors grade or react to you. so do what most people that have suffered in high school do...move on..it accomplished what it needed to, imparted the knnowledge you needed to get on with life...now do so...and don't look back

Your teachers didn't think you should have graduated because you didn't go to church? That's stupid. It shouldn't matter whether you go to church or whether you had problems with your parents. Church, school, and home are supposed to entirely separate. As long you had good grades it shouldn't matter at all.
