Hey,

I'm from that race. The reason why men are so important because that was how it was in the old days , and you know what ,no one was able to change that . Men-got the cars, drove it , are allowed to wear jeans ,shirts while the girls are wearing a suit , clothing with a big long shirt and big baggy pants that really doesn't let you show off your body and all it dose is makes you look fat . I think it's unfair and women should be given equal rights . But, the only thing is they are so used to that , they don't want to change their ways expect living in the past even though it's 2007. It's kinda sad isn't it ,when men were meant to be more from the past which they don't want to change. The worst part is the women are considered not to drink and eat meat. But, I will
be drinking and eating meat .

It is waste of time to keep asking "why it is so in India". India has a crowd of people that comes to a majority, who believes in tradition rather than logic, no matter whatever the nonsense they believe in and live for.

On an individual level, everybody, irrespective or gender has their physical and mental potential. Besides women and men, with respect to gender has some unique potentials also. It is worth it only when these potentials are identified, respected and utilized to create a better environment for each individual and consequently for the whole nation. People with potential needs to be provided the right opportunity.

It is largely a cultural matter and developmental as well. In Ancient Greece it was the same way.It was generated by men once they were aware of the superiority of women. It is man's impotence that directed him in many cultures to subjugate women who are physically weaker. And a desperate need to make sure the offspring was his and not another's.
