Try explaining to him how you have been feeling and what it meant to you that he could not help you through this rough time. But keep in mind that you chose to be there for him when his partner died and just because you did it for him does not mean he should have done it for you. Such is life some people just do not respond in the same way as you yourself may. The best thing to do is sit him down and tell him how you are feeling and that you needed him. Maybe he does not realize what he did, he may even think you did not need him. Talk to him and find out were your friendship lies. Best of luck to you.

You know, this is a perfect example of why we should treat others as we wish to be treated, & not treat them badly just because they treat us badly. It is a perfect example of how when you give a pearl to someone who threw you a stone, they come around and learn a lesson they would otherwise NEVER have learnt. Tell him to be grateful for the lesson, and that although he did not behave well, you see he has learnt a valuable lesson in life. The past can't be changed, but how nice it is that he can now "reward" you for what YOU did right, rather than "just feel bad" about what he did wrong. It is a time when you can both be grateful for each other, and as a "reward" he can simply give you love and attention and affection, and show his appreciation for the lovely heart you have.
It's not a bad thing - it's a GOOD thing!... Take care.

It depends if you want to keep this friendship. You cant go back but what you can do is go forward. Sometimes it takes a mistake to realize what kind of friendship you really do have and this may strengthen it. The fact that he feels bad tells me he really does care.

Maybe he simply didn't understand what you were going through until he experienced it for himself. I would be a little wary of someone who isn't able to support me when needed, sometimes it's because they don't care enough. Tell him he can't change the past but he can be more supportive in future.

Tell him not to beat himself up anymore whats done is done. Tell him that you are glad that he realizes this and has learned what it means to be there for a friend in need. It is sad how we have to live and learn but forgiveness is one of the steps.

Just be there for him and be a friend and vomfort to him through this time of sorrow.. Be a shoulder he can lean on. Sometimes we do not know what to say but just being there for them helps.

he is in a very difficult situation. He realizes now how much it hurts when a loved one dies. He therefore realizes he wasn't sympathetic enough when you went through a similar experience. I would suggest you hug and kiss each other and give thanks you still have each other.

Unfortunately, you can't undo the past. All he can do is appologize and the two of you can move on.If that is what you want to do, that is.
