count to ten in a language you didn't speak, would you at least try?

Okay, what I meant is: THEY speak the language they're asking you to count in and YOU don't. Sorry for the confusion.

Okay, for the last time:
It's a language that you DON'T SPEAK, not 'took in school a long time ago'.
And for anyone who thinks they can move fast enough to dodge a bullet when the gun barrel is in your forehead, this ain't the movies: you'd be dead.

If someone put a gun to my head, I don't think the person would be worried about if I counted to 10 in another language or not.
I think the smell emanating from me would be horrendous

How could you? If you don't speak their languange how can you possibly count to ten in it? I mean you could make feeble attempts by counting in another language and hope it sounds the same, but it's pretty much a waste of everyones time at that point, agreed>

It looks like you have a choice. Make an attempt and have a chance at living, or give up and die.
Why would you not at least try and take the chance?
Besides, you can count it on your fingers and say you didn't know sign language.

I would do it in French.
Wow, good question - now I guess it wasnt a complete waste of my time to have to take French in public school.... if only in relation to this question. Here's to being a Canadian.

id just start counting in spanish since i actually know how to count in spanish, then id say i had no idea that i knew spanish.

Make up your own language that you think this guy wouldn't know. Maybe pig latin perhaps
