Some things are better left to the unknown. I think if people knew the exact time and manner of their death they would spend their remaining time in fear and obsessing over the knowledge and never truly live out the time that they have. It is enough to know that death comes for us all eventually.

No. I had a premonition about my death once and fortunately had the presence of mind (in the nick of time) to halt progress. The first emotion was absolute elation and overwhelming gratitude but once the adrenaline settled my legs turned to jelly and I was plagued by huge worrying (because I didn't understand) questions that almost send me loony. To point out a few; why me? why does it not happen to everyone? why have I been singled out? who or what is responsible and what do they want? what have I done to deserve these saving grace? What does it mean? I'm I different?.....on and on they came until it finally occurred to me that I am meant to be here - alive. That knowledge has brought me security but not clarity in reference to my purpose and contribution to life (yet). Now what?! has been a constant thought in my mind since then but fortunately my dreams help me out when life seems a right pickle. I would prefer not to know but it is not in my hands so I'll conclude with whatever will be will be.

Sure. That would be awesome!

Just think of all the stuff you could do if you knew in advance. You'd know exactly when to cash in your 401K and party, etc. You could max out your life insurance and really hook up your next of kin.

The single folks could hook up and then "I promise to call unless something drastic happens."

Heh.

No, I believe in taking life as it comes, if we know when we are going to die, our mind will be busy planning our life based on that which kills the basic premise of our life.

its better coz.. when you realise it , you tend to plan your entire future out and i think you'll have much more fun with life .. enjoying every small thing.. with a smile. :)
knowing that after its over.. you wont be getting this / that anymore

NEVER. The true meaning of life is the path you tread and not the destination.
