because the US wants to strengthen its influence all over the world.(if Hollywood can, why the government cannot?). by strengthening its influence,if the effort successful, businesses/money will follow as those countries will need US goods/investments/experts, etc. this policy may be the reason for terrorism, but not always. the victims of terrorism are not always American or its allies. instead most of the victims are local people (nothing to do with the US programs/policies/projects) who happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It is the way empires behave. Look at the " Great Game " played out in the 19th C in Afghanistan. I wonder if our appetite for oil doesnt have somethign to do with it. Terrorism is more of a sympton of political problems. I can't see a purely military solution for it.

Because no one is having stability...Establish a stable democracy, US will not meddle. It happened several times to US, that in Egypt Billions of Dollars enters from US since decades as assistance and they were friends of former USSR (Russia). It is like for food you make friendship with US and in case some shortage comes in US itself you will kick them!

We do this because we believe we have the right to step in when we think people are doing something wrong or something that could threaten us. Overall we're cocky punks who like to rule and have power. Pretty much we're corrupt. The government isn't corrupt just the people running it. People start wars and problems not governments.
