You are initially chosen through the electerol. You will then be grouped and chosen by the legal reps. It prob depends on the case, but they would probably want an equal number of men/women and people with different cultures. If you aren't in the final chosen, you get to go home.

Like the lottery. A computer picks your name out from the Electoral Database which then gets checked for Criminal Convictions, Driving Offences etc.

Its purely on "lucky dip" if you can call it lucky. If you are down on the electrol register then you can get picked. I wouldnt like to do it, some cases are deciding on a person's life, big responsibility!!! You get paid to do it though, only about £150.00.

If your on the electoral register then you name is picked at random, I was on a jury about eight years ago,and they will send you a letter saying that you have been picked and what to do next. there are exceptions on those who can't be picked, such as judges, lawyers, police, members of parliament, and criminals.

they use the drivers licenses database.[it used to be the voters roll] every 7th name is going to be called per year. it's a continuing list. you get paid $7.50 for a half day and $15 for the whole day, that's not even minuimn wage.
