After having my first scan they want me to go back for a rescan this friday as the fluid around the baby seemed on the low side. I dont really understand this and am really worried. My bladder was so full at the time of the scan and the midwife/nurse told me to have a quick wee as i was so uncomftable. After having a wee she re scaned and the scan seemed more normal. But i still have to have a re scan friday.

My friend was in a very similat situation, they were very concerned due to her low water and she had to have numerous tests, nothing looked normal up until the last few weeks of her pregnancy and needless to say she was besides herself with worry, but I'm pleased to say she now has a lovelly healthy little boy so keep strong and keep faith.

I do not totally understand the implications of low water but I think it is because if there is not enough water for the baby to develop it can cause problems or worse case scenario miscarriage. Please dont let that scare you as these days there are numerous things they can do and if your scan looked more normal after going to the toilet sounds like it could be ok anyway..

your water level can vary day to day and the probably want to do another scan just to confirm there is nothing to worry about..

good luck

Please try not to worry, if they suspected anything was wrong then they would tell you. There will likely just be repeating the scan to make sure that all is wellwith you and your baby. My wife is 26wks pregnant with our son and had a few small problems/scares along the way but she is ok now and I am sure you will be too. If your worried call the hospital and ask to speak to a midwife foradvice or call your gp. My wive also uses a service called midwives online, there great for answering any concerns you may have. Good luck and take care.

Please do not worry. Sometimes the baby is just lying funny. If it was something really serious then they would of told you straight. The last thing you need to do is worry for the sake of you and your baby. Is this your 1st? because i worried about everything when i was pregnant with my son (also my 1st) When you have your next scan you will see your little baby floating around inside your tummy.. I also know what you mean about the full bladder. Mine was so bad i nearly wee'd myself!! How much shame would;d that course eh? lol.. You'll be fine. Laura

It's not anything to get too worried about, if they say that the fluid is on the low side, the start drinking A LOT of water, that will help get the fluid back to where it should be. Good luck!!

try not to worry, everybody is different and carry different amounts of water they obviously are not that worried or they would have had you back earlier than friday for another scan, look on the bright side at least you will be able to see your baby again, if you are really worried talk to your gp or midwfe, i am sure they will put your mind at rest. just relax and enjoy being pregnant. good luck

Don't worry about this. It is normal procedure. They are just being careful. If they were really worried they would have told you something and wouldn't have left it so long. Good Luck
