I wasn't going to add to this nonsense subject, but I just had to scream at alec3720 - AAAAARRRGGHH!!

An ASTRONOMER is a legitimate scientist

It's an ASTROLOGER who is a fraud.

Milly - you may have heard of a famous experiment, which has been done many time, and (to my opinion) most famously by Derren Brown

He went to three different countries (Spain, USA, and UK) and randomly chose 6 people in each country. He took their exact time and place of birth and wrote a VERY detailed analysis for all of them covering many details...it included very specific information - such as "you have thought about writing a book, and may even have started one" & "you have a very subtle sense of humour which you think that other people do not always share"
each person was asked to rate their chracter analysis out of 100%, - all of them rated their specific analysis in the high (80's and 90's %) and a few even gave him 100% accuracy.
The thing was - every single prediction and character analysis was the same word for word.
Astrologers are nothing more than fraudulent cold readers and character guessers

there would be national scientific interest if anyone had any proof.
basically there is zero proof. There is not even any _theory_ to test which would account for astrology working.
there is,however, an awful lot of proof against.
(including ther fact that some astrologer's books contradict other astrologer's books)

{Edit} Quote from http://www.randi.org
"At that time, there was a claim made by French psychologists Michel and Françoise Gauquelin that astrology could indicate through horoscopes whether or not a subject was likely to be connected with the military. Then someone pointed out that military constraints of travel, vacations, and other factors, might be sufficiently seasonal to be significant elements in the time-of-conception — and thus the time-of-birth — of children born to military couples. I thought, and still think, that this is not an unlikely possibility. But, as has been pointed out in the matter here under discussion, that would have nothing whatsoever to do with astrology"

"The claims of Michel and Françoise Gauquelin have been subject to much scrutiny, but have never been replicated"

Very little in the case of the horoscope you'll find in the newspaper or get from a horoscopist. *However,* several years ago two very well-respected psychologists (Eysenck and Gauquelin, if you want to search for their studies) did a major correlational study between star signs and major factors like career choice, personality, etc., and much to their disappointment (they being super-rational beings) they did find some significant correlations, in the general directions that astrologers predict - e.g. 'fire signs' did tend to be a bit feisty and go for demanding, competitive jobs, etc. They reported their results like good scientists should.

It's worth reading up on their research if you're seriously interested, but I'd stress that it's a long leap from their findings to the kind of detailed predictions that are most commonly pedalled.

Well this is how I felt today and it is what my horoscope said for today however I did not read it untill about 8 pm tonight, and I have been very scattered all day

Things may seem far more difficult for you on this day, Milly.
With the cosmic energy happening as it is, your focus can seem tough to keep, and thoughts scattered.
Staying on top of what you need to do may be easier to do if you post a list within your line of sight today.
Try your best to not get frustrated as this can make things even more challenging.
Slow and easy is the ticket today.

However that is only proof to me not to you LOL

Love & Blessings
Milly

None at all - it is all a load of rubbish.

How can every person in the world fall into only 12 catagories - with the same fate affecting each of those 12 groups???!!!

You make your own fate - live life to the full and you won't be disappointed.

hororescopes are a fictiucious load opf bullsh1t. they are based on the stars, and supprisingly the stars are a few million light years away (even more sometimes but all stars vary) so we see the state of that star about a million years ago. how the hell can this be something that can be true?????

None really, try pretending you're a different sign for a week or two, then read your new horoscope every day.

It's odd how it seems to have a ring of truth to it from time to time.

no real proof.. but all my horoscopes have some weird way of coming true. maybe the prediction is so vague that applies to everyone's day. but sometimes it's scary how accurate they are :)

There is none. Anyone can interpret their horoscope to be true. Its whether you believe in that junk or not

there is no proof what so ever, it just depends if you believe in them or not and it is up to people to decide. It's like if you believe in Father Christmas or Easter Bunny.
