I don't expect many people have come across this. Has anyone had this situation? Their boyfriend/husband attacks them, a classic domestic violence situation. Then, he leaves. Then, he files for custody of the children, makes up a pack of lies. The court can't see the wood for the trees. He uses the court to cause pain and suffering to the mother and children. The court is fooled.
Took me years to sort this out.
How would you get over something like this?
Only in England - or does it happen everywhere?
If he hadn't had legal aid, he couldn't have done it. The loser didn't even have a job.

I work for attorneys in the US---what your stating here is prevalent not only in England but the US as well. It amazes me how MEN/WOMAN abuse the court system every day for their mickey mouse law suits--child custody battles, etc.

Divorce court in the US has gotten to the point of being rediculous. So has the small claims court judicial system. People are suing for the stupidest things any more.
