This question is something that will vary depending on who the individual is. Personally – my conscience pull more weight that my preservation of self. This is the reason why I live a just life guided by my moral compass. In choosing this to view things from this perspective – I do not live with regrets because all of my decisions are the decisions that I would gladly make again.

If there is ever a conflict between conscience & self-preservation, I believe I'd choose conscience. What's the point of being alive if I can't live with myself? If I'd be constantly tormented knowing what I should have done? I have to do the right thing. For instance, if someone I loved was in danger, I'd risk my life to save theirs.

Self preservation
We go to work everyday to pay the rent so we have a roof over our heads, power so we can see & cook, clothes to keep warm, food to eat etc & then we teach our children
Concience lives with the soul so yes I would risk self-preservation in order to nurture the soul

Never thought about that, but I think conscience is more of a driving force in my actions. I think it helps us to make decisions that are a little more logical, objective, and not so selfish. If it was all about self-preservation I would do things based more on my own benefit. I don't think that would help you to be a very productive person in most settings (family, friends, work, society in general). My conscience makes me think of the consequences and outcomes of my decisions, so I prolly choose to do more sensible or objective things... Good question

On a normal day, self-preservation is the key. I don't think conscience can really be a 'driving force'. Conscience is there to regulate our self-preservation.
Risk self-preservation to alleviate my conscience? I don't think so. If it came down to me hanging in a life-threatening situation by a fingernail and someone was hanging off my leg - I'd try to shake them off. No doubt about that one.

Conscience. I believe what goes around comes around and if you're honest (ie follow your conscience) then at least you know you did the right thing. If you choose self-preservation over conscience, even if you survive you have to live with yourself and that can be very hard.

As much as I want to have a clear conscience, I think I'd instinctively choose to preserve my life. I can live with a spotted conscience, but then what good would a clear conscience be to me if I'm not alive anymore?

I think conscience however I may commit something which contradicts it according to the fact that I am a human being. But I try to overcome it .

It depends on the situation I have no problem with either you just have to be careful that there is a balance of the two in each situation you face in a day.
