I am new to Yahoo answers and some of the answers I have received so far have seemed pretty childish and empty. I was just curious who I am asking questions to ?

Are people who answer the questions most of the time only interested in getting points like it is some type game or is there serious intellectual discussion on here?

I AM 33 previously a career girl and law student but am now a desperate housewife with a toddler lolol .. ok, i am not desperate but i do get a bit bored!!

i love coming on here... i usually answer the questions when i can but to be honest i cant help being a little smug and sarcastic at times.. I love asking qs too, most people are usually helpful

i cant lie, i like the points, particlarly for best answers, but i also like helping those who need genuine help. i also like entering discussions and finding out how different people think

I think some people are only interested in points and answers to some questions are childish. Depends on the question as well I think. Unfortunately you will always get that, you have to read through the good ones. Always pick a best answer so that person knows you helped them.

Any person who visits yahoo answers out of curiosity goes through questions asked by persons of every category on any category of subject and finds many answers. We find some very easy solutions to our problems by many experienced persons who read your problems.I am 65 and have received fine guidance
on Internet problems which I encountered in the beginning. They are really helpful.Getting points for the answer is just a complement.

Obviously some people only answer to gain points. Some people really try to help with problems or information required as well as they can. Intellectual conversation can become boring when the lines of text go on and on and on and on............... and you then lose the will to live! By the way I'm an ancient 59!!!

you have to take some of the answers with a pinch of salt and anyway do not take any answers as gospel.the great thing about yahoo Q and A is that it is a form of brain storming you have the opportunity to absorb information, check it out and resolve problems without the need of conversation and also you can do a good turn every day by answering some of the Qs online - just ignore the idiotic ones

All kinds of folk on here. I generally find that serious questions are answered seriously, though there's a lot of daft stuff on here too.

In case you're interested, I'm a white, English male aged 45, but that's not me in the picture - obviously, as it's a puppet!

Welcome to the madhouse.

I think its gets a broad range of ages and background. Though probably more teens respond to entertainment and music but i might be wrong. I'm 30 , British and a Christian.I don't think the childish answers are necessary always the teens.

I'm 31. I generally answer the silly questions with silly answers but if its a proper interesting question, I will give it thought and give it an answer I see fit. Its not just point scoring, sometimes you can find some really good help out there

Housewives, househusbands, kids, professional people, ages range from 10 yrs to the oldest who is in his 70s. It depends on what you are looking for here. You will not always get the answers you want to hear. By and large it is a brilliant site, that has given a lot of people a lot of pleasure.
