69/12 + 70/12 + 33/12
Notice when the denominator (4) is multiplied by 3 to make 12 the numerator (top) is also multiplied by 3. Similarly, 6 x 2 =12 the numerator is also multiplied by 2.
When all the improper fractions are brought to the same denominator, the three numerators are added together.
172/12 - this will cancel down. by factor of 4
172/12 = 43/3
As an improper fraction this should be converted to a mixed number by dividing by three

69/12 + 70/12 + 33/12
What I just did is for each fraction I...
1) asked myself what number needs to multiply times the bottom to = 12
2) I multiplied this number from (1) times the top of the fraction. Example: The first fraction is 23/4. I asked, what number do I multiply times 4 to get 12? The answer is 3, so then I multiplied the top, 23, times 3... and I get 69. Thus the first fraction is 69/12
Ok, once you get that far, then simply add the three numerators (thats the top of the fractions). Then the number you get is over 12.
We get 172/12. We can simplifiy this. To simplify, think of what number you can divide both 172 and 12 by. 2, right? So do that and you get 86/6. Again we can divide both 86 and 6 by 2. We now get 43/3. We cannot simplify any further.

You can multiply the top and bottom of any fraction by the same number and it won't change the value. So 23 / 4 is the same as 69 / 12. Both the top and the bottom have been multiplied by 3.
You can do the same to the third term: 11/4 = 33 / 12.
Now, what would you have to multiply the middle term, 35/6, by to make it something over 12?
Do this.
Then when all the fractions are over 12, you can just add them up:
1/12 + 2/12 = 3/12.

You need to find the lowest common denominator. As you have 4 & 6 as denominator - which in this instance is 12. therefore 2 3/4 = 38 over 12 3 5/6 = 46 over 12 1 1/4 = 15 over 12 Add 38 + 46 + 15 = 99 99 over 12 = 8.25 or 8 1/4

multiply 35 by 2 coz goes into 12 twice u get70 and that's over12
then finally11 by 3 coz 12 goes into that 3 times which is33 over 12
then u add them altogether 69/12 +70/12+33/12 and get172 over 12
so your answer is 172/12 or 14.333333333

Having read below I still think the answer is 14 and 1/3
23/4= 69/12
35/6= 70/12
11/4= 33/12
69+70+33= 172
172 divided by 12= 14.3333
14.3333= 14 and 1/3
