it is not a matter of age but rather a matter of the skin type and budget. as a make up artist, i use mac on my clients. it is reasonably priced and of good quality. they have a great selection of types that anyone can find one to suit their skin. for concealer i use laura mercier as it has a two colour palette to match the skin tone and mac loose powder. i also apply laura mercier primer as the base to give flawless skin and help keep the make up on longer. if you have large pores, the primer will help to reduce the look of it. if you have good skin, i would recommend laura mercier's tinted moisturizer. it gives good coverage and much lighter. i do recommend this for younger clients. personally, i use armani foundation, chanticaille loose powder and chanticaille concealer. foundation is the basis to good make up. you should buy the best you can afford. cheap out on the lipstick , liners and there are great cheap maascaras...most make up artist use maybelline great lash or l'oreal voluminous.

Mid 20's (I wince just saying that!) I'm currently trying out Loreal Color Match foundation (Day 1) and it seems to be working. I have oily skin and so far I've only had to blot my face once. Its medium coverage applied with a foundation brush. My pores are a little less noticeable. Normally, I'm a Clinique Girl. I decided to try something less expensive to see it it hold up to my much expensive Clinique cosmetics...so far so good.

Am in my 20's and use Revlon Colorstay, stay natural. Have normal skin but hardly ever use foundation as I prefer to keep my face make up free most days. Usually just use mascara.
