We all have them, we all want more of them, and we usually forget to balance them with the liberties of others around us.

EQUAL is the key word, not "special".

(Having "protected classes" in our society is actually a breach of our equal protection clause. I wonder when the Supreme Court will strike it down?)

The problem with modern society is that it is too much preoccupied with rights. It emphasizes rights. Thus, we have the mentality of "My and Mine" "This is my right!!" and here comes another guy who says the same thing. It's either they go to court or kill each other on the spot.

I think the solution to this is to teach the younger generation to focus more on RESPONSBILITIES. If you're responsible, you will exercise your rights while at the same time observe other people's rights and therefore, you avoid conflict.

There is not much problem with rights, if you know how to use them wisely.
