why does my monitor get weird waves? i checked if it's just me, but my sister sees it too.

Summary: Monitor failure. Warranty repair or purchase another.
Make sure your Computer loud speakers are not near the Monitor if it's a CRT (Television) type monitor.
Apart from that it's almost certain your monitor is faulty.
If possible check it on another (friends) computer. If it does the same thing it is definitely faulty.
If it's ok on your friends computer the issue is with the Video Card in your computer. However Video Cards do not usually fail in the way you describe.
Most Monitors have a three year warranty. Contact the dealer with the purchase Invoice, Model and the Serial Number.
If it's a non-warranty issue it's unlikely to be economically smart to get it fixed. Replace it with a new one.

Check the signal cable at the back of CPU. disconnect and reconnect it.
If problem continues try your monitor on another computer. even after this problem continues then dear get your monitored repaired or replaced.

bad monitor or bad card. there is a slight chance the driver might be corrupted but you need to replace the two items i mentioned and see if that clears it up. if not its the driver and you need to either go to the manufacturers website or driverguide.com
