I suspect lack of money is the answer. Samaritans are a charity and depend on the giving of people like you and me. They have very limited resources and do the best to make the most people aware of them and what they offer.

Also anybody who is computer minded and would rather contact them in this way will probably think to check for the website. http://www.samaritans.co.uk/

They need to advertise more. If you're actually concerned you could do it for them. Just post a quickly typed word document around your school/college/uni/work/etc... you nbever know who might see it or who it might help!

They haven't much money for advertising. Its not a rich organisation

Why not ask them ? I suspect it's a funding issue - they are perennially short of funds

because they want people to talk not type. Talking is so much more personal.
