Penn & Teller are two of the most successful magicians in show biz, and they got there how? By magic? Even if it is stage magic, it is still magic, is it not? Geezzz... imagine that. And they say magic is bs.... how interesting.
Penn & Teller deal in illusions. And for them, it may seem that it is all illusions. It may be hard for them to get past that.
However, those of us who deal in the Craft side of things will tell you, yes, there are real magics out there for those who believe and practice.
But to those who have no belief in those kinds of things, then no amount of explaination will suffice.
We do not confuse stage magic with real magic. Real magic is empowering. Real magic gives us the ability to achieve those things we want to attain. Stage magic floats elephants and saws ladies in half.
There is a difference. But again, if you do not want to believe in it, there is nothing that can convince you otherwise.

No one has ever demonstrated any 'magical' skills, talents, or knowledge under controlled conditions that cannot be proven to be some form of a trick.
We can speak of 'magic' as an intangible force or energy, but in that sense it cannot be measured or teasted, so is very subjective. It also cannot apparently actually DO anything.
Eastern mystics have a long tradition of combining spiritualism, magic tricks, a keen psychology, and good physical skills to produce what appear to be miracles, but really are just incredible displays of perfectly human talents.
If anyone can PROVE that 'real magic' exists, James Randi has a million bucks for them! http://www.randi.org

Well some people say advertisement is magic - I think it is defintely - it gets you to buy things you don't need. Roland Barthes was one of the first to mention some kind of a link. SO there is magic in the West.
Music can change your mood depending on the song - I think music has a magical quality because of this, hence is magic.
If you are talking about magic as in invisiblity. you should watch derren brown - when he becomes invisible to this man. he waves his hand across his face after hypnotising him and the man can't see him at all - the power of suggestion is magic.
but if you are talking about creating an item from thin air - i don't know anyone

I don't think there is such a thing as true magic. I'd like to believe there is---I'd also like to believe in ghosts and UFO's---but I've not seen any proof of those either. And I've looked---believe me. A lot of people say that they practice magic but I've yet to see it. I think Penn & Teller are right.

The kind of "illusionist" magic P&T do? Yeah, that's usually fake. The sort of magick I believe in is the kind that skeptics will label coincidence every single time, and yet it's convenient enough coincidence, and wished for/worked for coincidence, often enough that I don't think it's coincidence at all. To me, natural magick works by "nartural means," meaning that if you believe in something strongly enough--convince yourself down to the subconscious level--you will make choices that are far more likely to manifest the desired result than if you hadn't done that magick at all. Kind of like the power of positive thinking (which *has* been scientifically proven) but with an extra, ritual *oomph.*

Human beings use only a very low percentage of their brain potential. Magick is the capability of using that potential too and so reach a higher level of awareness. The higher the level of your awareness gets, the most extraordinary and 'magic' your capabilities will get;) Magick is an inborn feature every human being has somewhere hidden inside his/her own conscience, you just have to find it;)
