well i want to customize my desktop i aleready know how to do it via apperance and themes on my start menu but i would like something a bit more modern anyone know how i can do this??

Why dont you take pictures of your family and friends, and use them as desktops, and if you have enough you can actually have a slideshow as your screensaver. When I first did it, it was pictures of all our family holidays, and I used to wait just so i could see the pictures, it cheers when you are having a cra ppy day.

Use windows vista, but be careful as there are still bugs in it at the moment.

Please define "something a bit more modern". What could be more modern that having your own personal computer on your desk?! It won't be any more modern for pasting a silly picture onto it...

Try www.wincustomize.com they have stuff that can make your computer look and act very different than standard windows...
