We are soulmates...we really do not consider what other people think because we're all of the human race. However, a friend of my wanted me ask this question among the public to see if people are really opposed to interracial marriages.

It shouldn't matter, but people say nasty things sometimes about interracial marriages. My wife is Korean and I am an American (white) and sometimes we get pretty nasty looks when we are walking down the street together. If you two love each other, then nothing else should matter.

I see what you are trying to poke at the hypocrisy of the issue of marriage and traditional marriage which is being battled out state by state right now. The sad truth is, yes, if the majority of people out there wanted interracial marriage to be illegal, it would be. Morally, I feel this would be wrong, especially since every single committed relationship I have been involved with has NOT been with someone of my own ethnicity. Furthermore, your idea was exactly how things were before the civil rights movement. Fortunately, a lot of people protested and eventually changed the majority opinion of what is discrimination so that now everyone has the freedom to marry regardless of ethnicity.... unless of course you are gay/lesbian/bisexual/etc etc. Soon (within 10 years) the GLBTQ community will be able to have the same rights as the heterosexuals will have as well, whither the conservatives like it or not (which they won't.) Now everyone keeps this idealized state where nothing in the constitution can be changed to favor the majority, and thats just blatantly not true. Take prohibition for example. Majority ushered it in, and eventually majority ushered it out. If enough people wanted it, interracial marriage would be illegal once more

I personally do not think it should matter what anyone else thinks. They are not the one who is loving and spending their life with this person. I think it is great that people like that can blend and share their beliefs and customs with someone of a different culture. People are going to be ignorant and unsupportive because thats how they were raised or brought up to think that way; there is no getting around that but dont mind what they have to say. I say this because I am also considered a "minority" because I am gay. I do not care what people have to say. It is my life and I'm going to live it so that I may be happy, not try to please everyone else. How boring would it be if everyone was the same and thought the same?

I am a black man married to a wonderful white woman. I think that if 2 people really love each other, then race, family, or other people's views should not matter. I have had family and friends leave me because my wife is white. I dont care about that because I love my wife. If you love your partner, nothing else should be a problem.

Companionship, Friendship , Love....in whatever way we come together ...as long its genuine feelings and your desire to make it work nothing can be a hinderance.

I personally don't perceive anything wrong with an interracial marriage...so there! thats my vote for you :) :)

Great.
For your future kids India, Africa, Philippines all would be own country. If more and more marriage occurs like this after 100 or 200 years the world would become one country.

I wish I would live to see that.

you already truly know the answer

if not, then ask these questions in your own mind, do your people accept mixed race babies, be honest, and then examine the rest of the world or country you live in.

I was told by a mix race person, that they were never accepted by either of their parents families completely
