Really depends on your interests. Some popular thoughts:

1) horses - of course. Some really beautiful horse country around lexington. Head to the Kentucky Horse Park or reserve a tour at one of the multi-million dollar horse farms in the surrounding area.

2) bourbon - several distilleries within driving distance, many with tours and tastings

3) Restaurants - downtown has some fun and unique spots, as does the area surrounding the University of Kentucky campus...there are two major retail areas (Hamburg and Fayette mall) that have a good selection of chain restaurants (PF Chang's, Johnny Carino's, Bonefish Grill, etc)

4) Movies: several multiplexes, including those in Hamburg and Fayette Mall, but the most unique is the Kentucky theatre - an historic downtown theatre that features cult favorites, indie choices, and other not-run-of-the-mill movies

5) University/basketball - you can always tour the campus and the UK basketball museum

6) Toyota plant - tour the plant in nearby Georgetown and see where the Camry's are made woo-hoo!

7) Historic areas - several historic estates and neighborhoods in the city if you are interested in architecture or history

8) Music/Clubs - quite a few to choose from, including the typical college clubs and some more laidback places. The dame downtown has some good music features.

9) Outdoors - if you have a few days, there are some great outdoors activities within a close radius, from canoeing to hiking the scenic Red River Gorge

10) Arts - several great galleries and museums, as well as the Philharmonic, opera, and local theatre companies. And check out ticketmaster for national tours stopping at Rupp Arena.

If you have more specific interests, there are a lot more things. Lexington is a small city but does have some interesting places. Good luck!

It really depends on what you're into. You could visit the Kentucky Horse Park or maybe go to a UK game at Rupp arena.
