This could be a dangerous practice in one of two ways:

1) if your blood pressure medications do not work with this regime and your blood pressure remains high you can develop other illnesses that are related to high blood pressure: ischaemic heart disease, hypertensive retinopathy, hypertensive nephropathy, peripheral vascular disease, cerebrovascular disease ...

2) if your family doctor finds your blood pressure medications aren't working and increases your dose you might find that if there is a time when you take your medications daily or if you go into hospital and are fed them by the nurses daily you might wind up with VERY LOW blood pressure. This is also not so good because not enough blood pressure can mean not enough blood getting to the end organs (like your brain).

PLEASE let your doctor know what is going on and make a decision - either take your medications as indicated or discuss matters with your doctor so as to make a different health choice.

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

Put your medicine someplace where you can't forget and take it at the same time every day. It's foolhardy not to take your meds on a daily basis -- your doctor prescribed them to help you feel better but also to manage a potentially dangerous condition.

I'm not that much of a gambler when it comes to my blood pressure medicine. I've just started on it, but the day I found out I needed the pills I started a diet. This is the only body I've got and if the doctor says I need pills, I'll take 'em!

Medications can't work if you don't take them. In fact taking them only sometimes may send your body into a whirlwind and it won't know how to react. Blood pressures up one day and controlled the next. I have a hard time remembering to take most of my meds. I have to have a specific routine and then sometimes that doesnt even help. Try to find a way to remind yourself. If you take them before bed, throw something on your bed when you get up in the mornings, the same thing every day. Use it as a reminder every night before you remove it you have to take your meds. I used to throw my prescription bottles themselves on teh bed but have small children now lol

No it is not. But please don't make it a habit of forgetting. Why don’t you try getting help from this website - http://ailments.in/hypertension.html - I found it very useful.
