I don't know about PS2 to PS3, but I know that you can't transfer PS1 Data to a PS2 card, whenever you play PS1 games you are stuck using PS1 cards, unless they've changed something in the last year or so because I haven't touched my PS2 in awhile. Sorry, I don't have a clue as to when the PS3 comes out in Australlia.

Yes you can transfer PS2 data to a PS3 with a special adapter, however the Remastered PS2 games on the PS Store save their data as a PS3 format, so your PS2 saves will not be accessible

In spite of what the first responder posted, you CAN transfer PS1 data to a PS2 memory card, but only for back up purposes. PS1 games won't recognize the PS2 memory card even though it may have PS1 data on it.

Sony makes a PS2/PS1 memory card adapter to copy your game saves to the PS3. It's one-way though, can't transfer back as far as I know. I don't think it'll work with 3rd party memory cards that are larger then 8MB either.

sony makes a ps2-ps3 adapter for about 10usd
about bringing them back onto a ps2 memory card make sure the ps2 game works on the ps3 and if it does youll never need to bring the memory back.
