If your trying to burn pictures from your 'my pictures' folder the you can highlight the pictures that you want to burn and then right click and send them to your cd-writer. I think this is the easiest way for burning them quickly. Alternatively you can use a cd-writing program such as Nero or Easy CD Creator.

i had this problem and it drove me nuts! firstly, go to "my pictures" and check that in the "picture tasks" sub menu (should be in the top left corner of the "my pictures" frame) you have something which says "copy to CD" - I didn't and that's what worried me. If this is there, then there must be something else wrong, but if it is not there, here's how to get it. Close down or shrink down your programs so that you're back to your screen saver. Right click on "start" and left click on "explore" which should appear on a menu list. You should then get your "family tree" (as I call it) of all the programs/directories/drives on your computer. You didn't say whether your machine had one or two disc trays. If it has one it should be shown towards the bottom of the "tree" as "DVD-RW Drive [D:] (or some other letter). If you have 2 disc trays, one will be shown just as DVD Drive [D:] (or whatever) and other will be shown as DVD-RW Drive [E:] (or whatever). Right click on the one which says DVD-RW. A menu will appear. Left click on "Properties" (usually at the bottom). A window should then open up which has tabs at the top, one of which will say "Recording". Open this tab (left click) and you should see something which says "These settings determine how the Windows CD Recording software writes files to this CD-R drive". Underneath that you should see a little box which has "Enable CD recording on this drive" written at the side of it. Tick the box. There should be 2 other boxes which should already be filled in, one of which asks you to nominate a drive for "image files" to be stored (like temporary files); this should be defaulted to drive C. The final box is to do with the speed of writing. This is normally set to "Fastest", but just read what it says in case you have problems in copying - you may need to select a slower setting. Once you've done all this, click "OK" and you should be up and running, and your "My Pictures" should now show the "Copy to CD" option.

the first thing I would do is click on Start- then Select My Computer- then click one time on the Drive you are going to use to burn the pictures to. Then push the opposite mouse button you've been using so the drop-down menu appears. Select properties- Now under the menu that appears select Recording and be sure that you have "Recording" to that drive checked.

If you have followed what I have stated and you do have Recording enabled "checked" to the drive which you wish to burn your picture to, you will be able to accomplish your task even with just Windows Media Player.

i agree with some of the answers you have been given I burn Photos, DVD's CD's all with NERO no problem, as long as you keep it up to date, what i mean by this is it works fine with most programs, but if the NERO is much older than some of the programs you are using on your PC you have to update it, not a problem though
