A long time ago, quartz was used in old radios. They oscillated when given an electrical charge to the frequency of the radio waves passing through them. Now, gizmos that have a microprocessor in them have a little crystal inside it that is it's clock.
Sapphires have a molecular structure that enables light to pass remarkably straight through them, so synthetic sapphire, (chemically identical), is used on the nose cones of guided missles. (Also as the more expensive version of the window the scanners at the grocery stores use.)
Anyway, resistors pass electricity in one direction, and they're made of silicon and germanium. (Quartz is silicon dioxide). Perhaps some of these properties come into play with alternative medicines?
Personally, I just like rocks and minerals because they're so cool. If I want healing, I go to my doctor.

there is no proven evedence my mum is into all the stone thing however it is scientifically proven that the colour or the gems/stones affect our moods.
but mym mum had a stone around her neck on a neklace and it fell off when we were stuffing around she said "is was ment for me" ans to put it in my perse. i just thought it was all a heap of crap but did because it ment something to her.
since that day i have never had under $5 in my perse so they must have some significance but scientests will never prove it.
just like carma we all know it's there but there's no "scientific" proof

different stones 'put out' different energies. they all have different frequencies. you don't need to be a scientist to figure that out. you only need a tuning fork and ears that work.
powers, no.

There is anecdotal evidence that crystals have properties, that does not mean there is scientific evidence.
