In the year 1992 when I was 7, my house did burn down! It was a Friday afternoon and I had just come out of the bath. My mom came running down the passage telling everyone to get out because the house was on fire and I ran out in just my underpants....I was screaming! If I had thought about it at the time, and I could've taken one thing with me, it would have been clothes! Thank G-d everyone came out unharmed and my neighbors gave me some clothes to wear after about 20 embarrassing minutes!

Yeah, it's proably asked more than any other question, BUT, that doesn't mean you don't get an answer.

If I were a woman, my choice would be my purse, because with that item, you'd typically get your credit cards, ID's, driver's license, cell phone, car keys, which are all good things to have after an event like that.

Seeing's that I'm I guy, and if I had to limit it to one item, I guess I'd grab my wallet. Yeah I realize it can all be replaced, but not that easily, and it would sure be nice to have my ID and credit cards so I can get a motel room, rent a car, etc.

doesn't ought to. I have a smoke detector in each room except the lavatory. That way, i am going to ascertain about the hearth interior of 30 seconds of it starting up, so i'm able to take my halon hearth extinguisher (one in another room) and placed the hearth out. Then the fish and my fowl and cats and husband are ALL threat-free.

photos and any documents. Everything else is replacable.

by the way, once you have left a burning building never EVER re- enter the building. This is a common way to die.
