Been thinking about getting some new pickups for my guitar. I have an Epiphone SG Copy. What could I expect new pickups to do for my guitar sound? Can anyone recommend any for an SG copy?

Anyone who said copies aren't good is wrong. Epiphone guitars often turn out better than their American made, expensive because of the Gibson name cousins. My Epiphone 1956 Gold Top is gorgeous, plays better than any Gibson I've ever picked up and the pick ups are stunning (admittedly these were made in the USA).

For your SG I'd recommend, if you want a real biting Humbucker sound go with some War Pigs hand wound pickups from Barenuckle Pickups. They are hand made in the UK and so have a great individual tone and quality to them. Seymour Duncan are also great, but they are churned out so don't have that special feel which the Barenuckles will give you.

The pickups are what matters, as long as your Epiphone feels good to play and you're happy with it, don't even think about swapping it!

Yep, nice one. I had an SG copy when I was young. It is easy to pick up real gibson SG pickups second hand, try Ebay.

I am not advertising anything so I will not cut and paste a load of rubbish.

There are many companies which wil supply direct replacement pickups and it IS worth while, you will hear the difference all right.

You are lucky, the guitar you have will accept most replacement pickups with a minimum of modification. Seymour Duncan have a good range, the other guy is right.

Just watch you don't end up with a guitar where the pickups are more valuable than the guitar though. Replacement pickups do not increase the value of a guitar.

The guitar and amp are dependent on each other to make a metal sound, but a guitar pedal is not necessary. Truly, it's all about the guitar and amp. Usually, humbucking pickups are suited for metal. Maybe EMG -80 and -81? As for your setup, you can probably upgrade your pickups and get a pedal, but I'd get a better amp first. Go to Guitar Center or something and look and ask about it. I heard Line 6 is pretty good.

Yep, I concur. Get a Seymour Duncan. BTW, Gibson SGs are pretty cheap for a Gibson, so you may prefer to save up and upgrade the whole thing.

Hi there,
I've been trading the market for just a few months. My cousin actually told me about this website ( http://pennystocks.toptips.org ) and I signed up immediately after. This is my honest review about their method. I'm not someone who has a lot of time to be researching for ideas because I work many hours. they made it incredibly easy for me to make money in the market. Their reports are easy to read and follow. I've tracked most of the stock ideas that I've received in my e-mail from them and MANY have seen some nice gains after their announcements. I've made a nice profit (55% return on my investment on one, and 112% on the other!) on a couple of suggestions he's given and plan to start trading his ideas a lot more.

For more info: http://pennystocks.toptips.org
Cheers.

Penny stocks are loosely categorized companies with share prices of below $5 and with market caps of under $200 million. They are sometimes referred to as "the slot machines of the equity market" because of the money involved. There may be a good place for penny stocks in the portfolio of an experienced, advanced investor, however, if you follow this guide you will learn the most efficient strategies https://tr.im/ed075

Guitar copies and never really any good. Changing the pick ups won't really do much and neither will changing the strings.
To get a pure sound you might want to invest in the real thing.

Its all about how it feels to you and that you are happy with the quality of the sound you are producing. A good store online to have a look for new pick ups is at http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com Good Luck
