You didn't specify what types of games or when these games would be used. However, i teach students with special needs and in my classroom I encourage them to play games when their work is complete.

Games develop skills such as taking turns, catagorizing, upper level thinking (planning and strategizing). After a session of "games" i encourage students to say things like, "good game!" "Nice try" instead of the typical Middle School Response "loser" or bragging. I hear my students saying things like, "if you are going to call names, I won't play with you" which is very appropriate when a typical response is name calling back.

Some games that I use in my room are UNO, Connect Four, Guess Who, These are all short games that can be put away at the end of a class period. (battleship, mancala, etc)

I try to not to play stressful academic games with my students. The games that put students on the spot to test their memory skills. This is very hard for students with special needs. When I do academic games, they work in teams, the first team that gets an answer correct in a given time gets two points, the team that gets it right with a little more time, gets one point. That way everyone is rewarded for effort. (or in a math game for finishing a pproblem, rather than walking away)

If you are talking about games, like sports, they are absolutely important to school life. Many students like mine, who are not given a chance to shine in the classroom, can often shine on a basketball court, baseball field, or whatever. Every child should be encouraged to demonstrate and be recognized for their strengths.

It seems such as you have author's block, purely to your existence judgements as unfavourable to attempting to jot down something. the terrific thank you to get previous that, is to purely get a job. It would not rely what, the interest will wreck you out of your hum-drum, caught in a rut situation. Jobs are actually not everlasting, neither are careers. So in simple terms get accessible and do something... it particularly is going to help. those different issues you suggested ought to serve you properly as a solid "Plan B", while all else fails, yet do no longer seem to them as a answer. and attempt to no longer stress approximately what to do with your self in existence, as that stress purely provides pointless rigidity that messes you up in attempting to locate the solutions you elect. stress out of your mom and dad isn't effective the two, yet they are coming at this from a place of love and desiring you to have a greater helpful existence than they did. you already know that, so keep in mind that every time they positioned stress on you approximately succeeding in existence. in the previous long, in case you're accessible in simple terms attempting issues, you will finally end up doing something which you like which you additionally could make a success at. and then, of path, that's you who measures your guy or woman success, no longer others.

In grade school-yes. Even in middle school-and high school. Not the kind of games that can be/are cruel-but fun games-like musical chairs, mother-may-I, etc. That is also where sports-for fun-come into play-especially in middle and high school ages. Also, in grade school-spelling bees are fun. But please be careful for "sensitive" or "shy" kids. All children need to be and feel respected for who they are, as they are.
