Is it true that, before you plan to conceive, you must do a smear test ? Cause I am terrified of that damned smear test. I have had a silent miscarriage in December 2006 and had a d'n'c done, but my husband wants that I have a smear test done before trying to conceive again.

I have never done a smear test, but when I miscarried, the doctor put 2 pills in my vagina so I could expel the baby. I was so much in pain, that now I'm terrified !!!

You need to have a pap smear test done every 2 years. If it is due you should get it done but otherwise there is no reason to have it done just because you plan to conceive. I know pap smears are uncomfortable but you really need one done every 2 years so if it has been 2 years or close to since your last get it done. good luck with your next pregnancy.

You might as well get use to having pap smears and tests if your going to get pregnant because you will be getting examined alot in 9 months and when you go into labor. Some people say go to the doctor before trying to get pregnant but i didn't. Having pap tests done is something you never get use to but you have to have them done. Just relax.
