maybe, if they are walking or riding a bike as an alternative. but if they are just being lazy bums and inconveniencing all their friends by begging rides, then they should get a job and get their own car.

When I was growing up the government encouraged car ownership and wanted everyone to own a car. Now, all of a sudden, I am a bad guy just because I've done what HMG wanted me to do. As for rewarding folk for not owning a car...well they already are being rewarded as the government let them off with all the tax car owners have to pay. None of this will mean a thing in a few years as the oil will have gone a car ownership along with it.

Why not? I am a driver and would rather see my cash going to non drivers than the government......in fact, if the law did change and non-drivers were given £500 a year, I may even be persuaded to give up my car!!

no! and the reason is, i pay enough tax already, and maybe it would be good idea if public transport was more realible and cheaper, pubilc transport at the moment is as good as useless and for me its actually cheaper to run a car than get a train or bus

bad for you.and that's why they don't smoke.but they are happy
to jump behind the wheel of there cars.and pump out more sh*t

on cars.i do a long of walking and god know how much crap.

thts hardly fair! yes i agree those who have forsaken cars should be applauded but tht is no reason to tax those who use them- as not every1 uses cars for pure plasure n they might be doing other things for conservation! u don know wot they are or aren't doing!
