Robert was in many bands prior to joining Zeppelin, here are a few that I can remember:

New Memphis Bluesbreakers, Crawling King Snakes, Band Of Joy, Black Snake Moan, The Delta Blues Band, Listen, Hobbstweedle. And of course, "The New Yardbirds" for a short period of time, but technically that was Zeppelin.

As well as his first try at being a solo artist in '67 on the CBS label, but the singles, "Laughing, Crying, Laughing" and "Long Time Coming" didn't really make a dent on the charts.
