You are an Indian youth and obviously, you are dissatisfied. You ask yourself this question and find out the answers yourself. For the youth, the traditional reason for unrest, is their career. When they perceive their future very bleak, due to unemployment etc. they feel frustrated. I think that scenario by and large is absent. Now, with the soft ware boom, any hard working and intelligent educated youth, is assured a job with a decent salary. The problem lies some where. It is eroding value system in the society. People tend to believe that any thing done in furtherance of economic gains is good and acceptable. The family is under strain. That is the major reason for the apparent tension among the youth in India to-day.

This is a generalized statement. The youth who are not satisfied is because they are in a hurry to push ahead with life. Have you seen the movie; "The God's must be crazy". It is about a Bantu village who have the most comfortable and unique lifestyle, which is only upset when someone from a plane flying overhead drops an empty bottle of beer, and when the villagers see the uses the bottle can be put to, like a rolling pin to make chappatis; a whistle; a mirror etc. and they fight over the bottle. The village is in turmoil. Finally the headman of the village thinking there is something evil about the bottle takes the bottle far away and throws it over the cliff to return it to God.
The moral of this story is that the youth are not satisfied because they are reaching out to achieve things without elementary patience, and therefore they are frustrated and dissatisfied when they do not get it. But when they achieve what they are reaching out for, before time, it does not suit them and then they want to get rid of it and frustration sets in. Have patience. Patience is a virtue.

Satisfied with what exactly?
Well, India is enjoying high economic growth, and obviously consumer markets would get larger.
Therefore, the youth will want more and more. How the youth is raised must be done carefully to ensure that society isn't damaged in anyway, as seen in many industrialized nations.
Remembering where one comes from and who they are, is very important.

Because they are not happy with their Religion and they dont find their religion and their traditions logical.......
The Cast system is the biggest problem for the youth specially at the time of marriage....
the youth of india is dangling between the religion and the modernization .... and they find neither of it attractive enough to follow completely......

Few of them.
1. India is seeing a vast difference in the society and culture in the past few years. Their parents are still the same. For ex., girls would like to go in middies, low-cuts etc.,. Similarly they want to go to movies etc.,, move with boy friends and even have dates with them. Same case with boys. But their parents wouldn't allow them.
2. Not enough monetory support to enjoy the fruits of modern society. Since their parents are still middle-class people, they don't get enough money to go out to pubs, movies, malls etc.,. This is increasing their frustation.
3. There are a lot of opportunities but there is tough competition too. Lot of their friends are joining IT/BPO companies and are earnign good money. They are unable to get in.
4. Lack of direction. They don't know what they want to do in future. THey want to enjoy today but they are also scared of tomorrow.
They are basically going through a cultural shock.

they see what's out there, and they do not have the opportunity to achieve it. As India develops, the growth is painful. Tossing aside old tradtitions for newer, fresher things takes time and generations.
