A little on the high side - at around 120 (CPU) shut down. Pull the specs from the vendor web site for the model.

It depends where you measure it... the CPU temperature inside the chip is higher than the temperature of the outside of the package and depending where your temperature measurer is and how much thermal resistance there is between the temperature measurer and the outside of the CPU the temperature you measure will be lower still... The same is true for the air inside the case... but even more so it depends where you measure.

That said 41 is within the normal operating range for most CPU chips. 36 is OK too... perhaps a bit warm depending where you measure it. If the outside of the case is running at 36 then the air inside will be warmer... and some passively cooled components (the northbridge, southbridge, RAM and video card) may be too hot.

How cool should it be? It should be as cool as it can be... without buying a fridge. Well, it should be above dew point as you don't want condensation in the computer! Yours might benefit from a better fan on the case (or a fan on the case if it just has one on the power supply and on the CPU) to cool the passively cooled components..

If it's a laptop, there is not much you can do about the temperature though...

threshold of temperature for
Intel CPU is 75~80
AMD CPU is 65~70
which can be changed in your bios ( system health )
but 41 'C is idle for CPU and 36 'C for system too.

i do no longer understand the place you're getting your temps information from although that's somewhat severe. i like to work out any CPU below 60c below load. you're able to wish a greater powerful CPU cooler and yet another case fan to convey the temp down somewhat.
