No I see a red dawn scenario arising out of China . Since Bush Sr was a ambassador there and head of the CIA , I'm sure these arrangements have already been made . Venezuela seems to be one of the few South and Central American countries that doesn't send waves of illegal immigrants to our shores . There oil resources probably have something to do with their economy being decent . Unfortunately for them , that is why the media and the White House is banging the war drums to invade them too . I'd say next , but Iran seems to fit that category .

Americans are telling our government officials to go to hell so why can't Chavez do the same?

I think it's great. It's about time someone stood up to the arrogant gringos in the north.
I'm tired of seeing other political leaders suck up to the Americans. That's why Bush walks all over them. He thinks they're all pussycats.
Although Chavez is provocative, he speaks his mind. Which can only be good.

He didn't just tell our officials, he told us to go to hell. He is just a big blowhard, it is part of his persona, how he gets his people riled up and supporting him. Countries must have outsiders to objectify and hate to gain internal support. Heck the U.S. has been doing it for years. If the politicians and journalists would go away I think most all peoples would get along. We all want the same things, jobs for children, safe and healthy grandkids.

We in the US tell worse things to our officials. Even thou Hugo is considered a bad guy in the eyes of our government. I think he had a lot of courage to say that.

Right now, I can't blame anyone for telling us to go to hell. If he keeps this up that might be better to go there than stay on this bomb-ticking planet. It's a countdown to extinction! oF ALL OUR MONEY, OUR SOLDIERS LIVES, AND ALL THE INNOCENT VICTOMS! He can tell him I said "go to hell"!

why don't you learn a little about Venezuela...

basically... if they wanted to, they couldn't even come close... it's about as likely as one slug killing you and your family.. using a gun...

do any conservatives know anything about any other countries in the world?

I swear... Bush could tell you guys that Easter Island was developing WMD and had a huge army amassed and was about to attack... and you guys would be like "OMG!... we have to do something!"

Good for him. It's time we stop sticking our nose where it does not belong just to safeguard the interets of some oil company (why does that sound familiar?)
