I didn't like my name for a very long time.
When I was little I always "knew" that I was going to change my first name to "Emily".

Now, I kind of like my first name. Not a lot of people have it.

I was named Marcia after a neighbor my parents don't like, so I really do not like my name. I do like the name Zoe, but I am going to name my first child that, eventually. Not in any rush...

Yeah I like my first name (Michelle), but I remember when I was little I wanted to be called Maria after Maria from Sesame Street. I was going to be call Jacqueline. I'm glad ma and pa changed their minds....not that there is anything wrong with the name Jacqueline!!!

I didn't like it, so when, in second grade of primary school, there were three kids with the same name as mine in our classroom, I had mine shortened immediately, and kept it like that ever since.

My friends, and also my family, are totally used to calling me by my chosen name, which is logical, LOL, cuz I've had it for over 45 years already, and also it's only one letter shorter than my birth-name. ;=))
(Joshua is only my screen-name, not my real name)

Yeah my name is Michael, it's all too common, but I still like it a lot. It's can be sophisticated or strong yet it could be gentle too. It's classic, and familiar, no one will make jokes about it, or forget it, or mispronounce it. I wish some bad people out there didn't share my name but I like it none the less.

your name can actually choose what you are going to be in the future, it affects your life. like having a cool name like kevin will boost your self-esteem, but having a name like meg might lower it. my cousins name bryan means high and noble, he has good grades, lots of friends, and is a little noble i guess. i would change my name, but i won't because my parents gave it to me. i would choose to be called Adonis.

Yes, I suppose I do. I'm named after a song but I only tell my friends about it.

My name is Susannah - it means lily of the valley - no one knows how to spell it right but I think I'm starting to like it. I nearly got called Sonya when I was born but my mother said to my father "I am not going to have this baby if you call it Sonya" so Susannah it is!
