to a poem I'm writing?

The scent of decay
is a pleasant one
for I am a vulture
feeding what ceases to live

Over the rotting filth
I scan and search
for the carcass
most worthy of my cause

lovely
I think you mean "eating" or "feeding ON" what ceases to live

You got s good start, but please consider 1 or 2 suggestions: the verb "to scan" is rather technical, try to find an equivalent; in the first two lines it would be good if you made a small poetic licence (Like: Pleasant the scent/ Of decay to me feels).
Good luck!
