Business as usual. WWE normally goes on a firing spree, just to make room for new wrestlers to come up from developemental. If you look at the list of cuts the only one that was really on tv was Terkay.

Probably just business. They weren't really using any of those wrestlers on ECW with the exception of Terkey. He has some nice in ring work but I guess he wasn't what WWE was looking for. Now a sign of desperation for me would be adding more WWE Superstars to the ECW roster. It shows two things. WWE hasn't acquired nearly enough ECW superstars to fill a legitimate roster and they need more superstar power to boost ECW's ratings.

Spring cleaning.
They do it every year. They have people on the roster that they dont know what to do with, or havent proven themselves.
It's usually people that deserve it, but it's a shame too because usually the people they fire they didnt even try to use.
Like Jazz & Rodney mack, they rehired them a year ago and then they didnt make it to tv once.
And the Bashams were really good, they just broke them up suddenly for no reason on a brand draft, and then never took the time to give them a new gimmick.
And they have to free up money for tna rejects like monty and Riley

Well, they even fired people who are trainers or work backstage and don't even wrestle. So it was either a cutback in people needed, or since most of the firing was done from Smackdown/ECW people, maybe they're down sizing and are gona get rid of ECW and just move those extremeist to smackdown.

First off, its just business. Tatanka I can see letting go, he's getting up there in years, you can tell he was wearing out already, he gave the year a good go.
Second Tony Mamaluke they shouldnt have let go just because they need some of those previous ecw guys still around.
And third.. who the hell even knew Gangrel was on the payroll.. hahahaha

As this happens at least once a year, it's more than likely business as usual.
