Hi ferZandA.

I believe Hillary Clinton is a strong minded intelligent woman.
The trouble with leadership in politics is, although you get some idea through past activities of a persons ability to govern, you can't get the full picture until they are in office; by then it's often too late!

Good answer, thanks

Hello mir77,
Yes, I agree, there is no reason why a woman shouldn't lead America.
The problem at the next election will be what is in the electorates mind.
They will feel they have to get it right this time. I think they will be cautious.

That, by the way. isn't a statement of my opinion on George Bush, that would need another question and answer...

Thank you, good reply.

Sure, so many countries have powerful women politicians and leaders.

There is no reason that a great nation such as America can't have one.

Her success depends on the credibility she displays in public. Recently, I am starting to doubt her credibility as US president. I am not saying this because Hillary is a woman, its leadership credibility.

We are not only talking about the US, but also the world.

Bush lacks leadership qualities.

Americans are ready for a qualified person, as mentioned before by someone, it could be an American black, a woman, an asian, an hispanic ... it wouldn't matter ... just qualified. The field of qualified candidates in those groups is limited today.

Too many Americans do not like Hillary Clinton (including Democrats), if she gets the Democratic Party's nomination the result will be a shoe in win for the Republicans.

The House Majority leader ... Nancy Pelosi (Dem. Calif.) is not even a candidate at this time and also too inexperienced.

Condoleeza Rice (Rep.) ... current Sec. of State (former National Security Advisor) is a brilliant black woman with extensive experience in international affairs and foreign relations but, she has never held a public elected position.

Rice or Clinton might get the nod to run as Vice President on their party's ticket thereby opening the door for a future run at president.

Why do so many people doubt the qualities of a female? Like men automatically do a better job then women ...

I think the most important thing America needs is a competent president for a change. Gender is - to my opinion - not important. I think we women have managed to prove over the decades that we can do the same jobs men do, and often even better.

I think it would be good for men dominated Washington to be chaired by a woman.

Hilary had a lot of practice telling her husband what to do when he was president. She must know all the problems in being president having seen them at close quarters and I'm sure she will to select her assistants with care!!!! No doubt the poles have been removed from the White House now!!!
If you are fit for the job then you should get it. However in USA it appears its those with the most money and influence that get in, especially if well "supported" by the major industrial figures. Thats how a moron got the job!! Its a disgrace to America in the eyes of the world.

Margarat Thatcher was the first PM in England, until her time. She gave a good account of herself. The fact that she was a woman did not come in the way of her doing the job. I do not think the American voters will be prejudiced against Hillary, as a candidate, merely because she is a woman. They have to be convinced that she has the ability to do her job well. In the run up for the elections, she must sell herself as a good Presidential candidate.

The sex of the President is irrelevant. What the candidate would bring to the office is what counts.
But, yes, Hilary would make a brilliant President.
Condoleeza Rice? Er, no thanks.

Hilary & Barack Ticket (Either way)

It's going to be a long time before the whole of middle-america is ready for a woman president... however this is the time in which America is most likely to be able to take it, just because they're desperate for a change from the idiotic egotistical version of masculinity they've got from President Bush.

Sure cant do any worse than the current moron,
then after that how about a squirrel that can water ski, or a dog that can surf, or a loaf of bread.

the figure head counts very little as the people you don't see have been running your country for years now, so you might as well vote in a tennis ball with a smile draw on the front or a sheep, at least the population can relate with a sheep. bahhhhhh

America land of the free ,,, he he he he he he he and the home of the bahhhhhhh.

maybe. probably not. I think most people will be glad to get Bush out of office, but our country is still male dominated, so I don't think she'll win this next election. maybe the one after. when women get paid more than the men in the corporate world, then the next woman president will be elected.
