it happens because of what is known as persistence of vision. any image remains in the human eye for a fraction of a second. this is why when a lighted object is swung around in the dark it looks like a circle of light.secondly the brighter objects tend to remain longer as they excite the rods and cones with a greater intensity. as the intensity dies when ur eyes are closed the colours keep changing eventually to black. maybe the partial damaging theory is also applied.

Any general guy or woman will inform you that this is in basic terms what the innovations does in this physique of innovations and its no longer something to place inventory in, or carry so relatively. Witch is what I say. yet interior the spirit of the question, the sunshine relatively, to me any way, is attempting to the top. the colours all around and shapes, are bustifl, although they don't seem to be the top all, i might say ever in meditation you could attempt your superb to get to that mild as see what happens.

generally its because the rods and cones in our eyes get very overwhelmed relatively to the surroundings, and it has a very short term "damaging" effect as the eyes re-dialate themselves.
