Let me explain.
Most of the supposedly "Christian" bashers come in here, use Romans and Leviticus as their supposed "proof" that being gay is against G-d, but they only use scripture that pertains to Paul.
Never once do they show love, compassion, tolerance, charity, inclussion. They simply preach about hate, sin, damnation, hell, all that nasty and quite frankly WACKO stuff.
Why don't they get it? Why do they call themselves christians when they don't seem to posses even one "Christlike" attribute?

I don't HATE anyone.
I'm simply insulted when a PAULIST calls him/herself Christian.
Jesus IS the New Convenant, he Freed us all from the Old Testiment laws.
His ONLY mandate to us was: "Love thy neighbor as thyself."
That was it.
Nothing more, and certainly nothing less.

Some may think religion is a man made concept, but it's one I don't mind having around.
I have faith and a very deep set one at that. I do not "live outside" anything, except my house when I physically walk outside. I live only as honestly as I can. If people cannot accept it, move on. I do not harass you for your ideals or ideas, please respect me as your fellow human being in the same way.

The Paulists are a religious institute of men founded in the late nineteenth century in the United States by Isaac Hecker. Some aspects of the Paulist Center community’s worship might seem different to you from other Catholic churches, which is a sign not of division, but of diversity at work within the Roman Catholic church.
Basically ANY religion has its own contradictions, i.e., you follow the 'book' of the instruction, or you are vulnerable to internal attacks.
Unfortunately, honesty, compassion, and toleraance aren't any of their religious values. I think it is called hypocrisy.

As if anyone could possibly know the mind of God. Should He/ She/ It/ They exist, then I find it laughable that "He" should pick on one tiny insignificant part of Creation and mandate upon the rules of living down to the minutiae.
We (mankind) impose our own rules; to give order to the chaos in which we find ourselves. A set of morals which only apply to the betterment of all. The problem with mores taken out of historical context is that they stifle the growth of a society.
So I feel your frustration at those who persist in selectively applying 2000 year old (and older) dictats; which may have served to the betterment of an ancient society, as applied, without considering their own failure to live up to the same standards which were applied.

The historic resources of Christ's existence are straight forward, as suggested in yet another answer Titus Flavius Josephus documented Christ's activity in his Antiquaties of the Jews. different Historians comprise Pliny the more youthful in His letters to Emperor Trajan, and Tacitus in his e book Annals. The Roman biographer Suetonius has also reported incidents touching on to Jews in Roma, from the reason of a particular Chrestus (Christ).

I know what you mean, they twist the words around to serve their own twisted purposes. I have a niece who stopped talking to me and she's suppose to be a christian, she told me i no longer walk with god. The kicker is her father {My oldest brother} is a preacher and he couldn't believe it when i told him that she stopped talking to me and the reason why. I've had so many bible verses thrown at me since i came out, i've been told so many times that i was going to hell. There's no where in the bible that hate is preached, but they seem to find the verses that justify what they feel. It's really sad that they have that much hate in their hearts for people that's different than them.

If you think Paul was wacko and Moses was wacko, then what they say shouldn't affect you anymore than if they told you Bogo the Dancing Clown dissaproves of your lifestyle.
If you don't really believe Paul was wacko, you simply like the parts where he talks about mercy, but not the parts where he explains certain actions are sins and have consequences, then you have a crisis of faqith that has nothing to do with those people and everything to do with you.

Don't even get me started! They manipulate anything and everything to suit their needs. They are really internally unhappy people...When do you ever see people enjoying their lives and having fun inflict themselves with so much hatred? It wouldn't matter if Romans and Leviticus had never been written--they would find something. I think they all need psychiatric help--and I don't mean that lightly....How can anyone hate so much! It ain't healthy. :)

I dont get it myself - Christ said to love everyone as he had loved them - and he showed an awful lot of tolerance and compassion for people of all persaussions.
I always figured there was too much hate in the world for me to care much about who is loving who.

Why do you define your life by "christian" standards.
Why do you do that?
The "christian" standard is not for you, you live outside of it because of your lifestyle.. why do you need acceptance from the religion?
Live your life... the Ultimate mystery of life is death...
Live how you want to.
We are so lucky to live here on earth as we are, why waste time trying to get acceptance from people of a "man made faith"?
You are already living outside of it, just live your life.

God doesnt aprove of same sex relations he says man shall not lay with man or be kept for unnatural purposes. God is loving and forgiving and not one of us perfect everyone of us will have to answer to god for our sins no matter what they are and all we can do is ask for forgivness and not do it again whatever the sin may be and always remember god is loving we are all his children and were a gift given from god because god is so loving he gives us the choice to do right or wrong to either help him prove satan wrong or right which will you choose to do ? although I am not perfect I am sinful like the rest of the world I do my best to prove satan wrong you have to choose your own path. Jesus said I am hated therefore you will be to as my followers
