i hate that too, they know your location and everything, try getting a ip adress hiding thing, some websites let you do that for free by entering the site you want to go to into their browser.

All information sent out of your computer to the information is sent in a series of packets. Each packet contains a header that holds the source IP and the destination IP. A proper firewall only blocks incoming traffic. Many security programs have stuff that watches outbound traffic, but that is extra software on top of the firewall. Firewalls can't mess with packets, only accept or deny them, and most will deny any packet that does not have a source IP.

There are lots of ways... If you visit any website, use chat programs, etc they can get it.
As long as your computer is connected to the internet, there is a way to get your ip address.. They can use a process called ping to check if an IP address is valid.
Anytime you connect to the internet, any page you go to or program you use can get your IP address and just anyone with the will or know how can get it. Even if your router or firewall is "blocking" it.

A firewall is simply a program or hardware device that filters the information coming through the Internet connection into your private network or computer system. If an incoming packet of information is flagged by the filters, it is not allowed through.

huh? your ip is always on broadcast whenever you surf the net. The firewall is only between your computer and the internet connection (or router).
your ip is assigned to you by your isp.
