Very similar tales, the flood tale was probably hijacked by the Israelites during the Babylonian exile, This becomes all the more probable when you consider that the old testement wasn`t written down until about 600bc. Also, the garden of Eden story is a hebrew interpretation of the Babylonian tale, the garden of Dilmun.

well, the most interesting part to me is that although parts of the wording make it apparent that the Bible borrowed the story from Gilgamesh, the original Gilgamesh flood is a river flood.
