mount teide. But don't bother queueing up for the cable car because you might wait for hours.
whale watching
Yes the other person has raised the point that it is a chav's paradise. But in the "off season" I think you could have a quiet family holiday all right. It's a beautiful island.
But you WILL see drunk people staggering around in Manchester United strips so be prepared for this.

Tenerife is the biggest of the canary islands. They have a zoo and you can go to the big mountain where there is often snow. The dolphin and whale cruises are good - get the ones with the glass bottom boats to see the fish from down below. In Playa de las Americas it is aimed at the 18-25 age group with the Veronicas strip being the place for 24 hour bars and clubs (with plenty of free shots inside and vomit outside). The taxis are cheap and plentiful to get you about. A lot of it is on a hillside so be prepared for some good hillwalking. The food is usual tourist fare such as steak and chips and english breakfasts. The best bet for good food is to stick to the local fish.
Personally, I prefer Lanzarote as it is less tacky and a local artist (cezar manriques I think his name is) has made the Island lovely with sculptures and interesting buildings. There is a trip to a local volcano and caves which is lovely.
I also went to Fuerteventura which wasn't so great as it is quite windy and the food is not so good.

Yep, that's the euro. The denominations for the Euro economic employer notes are 500, 200, a hundred, 50, 20, 10, 5 euros. funds are 2 and a million euros. Smaller funds are 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and a million centimes. There are a hundred centimes in a million euro. while we shuttle, we get a small volume of customer's exams in basic terms before time, yet we don't convert our forex the place we live now. in basic terms take a Visa examine (debit) card, or a Visa credit card...you ought to use the machines over there to get admission to your funds, and that's already switched over once you receive it!

all that has been said until this moment is OK, but you might consider traveling to La Palma - if you like tracking or to El Hierro - if you like diving. Just if you are staying more than 4 days in Tenerife.

I stayed in las americas last july and went to medieval night, mexican night, catamaran trip to see dolphins and whales, jungle park and water park. Medieval night-good laugh cheering on your knight and eatin dinner with your hands just like they did in those days!
Mexican night- crap, away up in the mountains terrifying bus trip crap food and crap night a waste of money.
Catamaran- excellent trip was amazing to see the dolphins and whales in there natural home.
Water park- soooo busy cannot get on anythin, waited bout 2 hours to get a locker. Only good point is the dolphin show here everyday which i would pay over and over again just to watch that. You only pay to get into water park and dolphin show is free- well worth it!! but get there early to get a seat as they close it off once full and show is only on couple of times a day!
